Upcoming plans for Alpha 0.2


Good day everyone!

I've been on a short break since the Game Jam came to a close to recharge my batteries and plan some future ideas of Chaos Crew!

But first I will start with some unfortunate news - Difficulties with my current living situation are making regular work on this project a little more difficult, so updates may be a bit slower then I would like and its unlikely everything i initially planned for the summer will be complete before September rolls around. But have no fear - Chaos crew will continue to develop, expand and improve!

Now onto the fun things - Alpha 0.2!

There are plenty of plans for 0.2 that will expand the game world and offer more material for GM's to diversify games, as well as a few new gear choices to further enhance the options available to players. Each weapon type will be getting a brand new weapon to use and be destroyed by, ranging from the Precise "Needle" Missile rack to the Flak Launcher. Energy weapons will also be the first to see an ammo-less weapon, the High-Intensity Plasma Torch that excels in melee combat - And heavy weapons will see the first multi-room system featuring armed drones to expand your battlefield influence with the Drone Hanger and Drone Command and Control

But its not just offensive tools, 0.2 Will also see the introduction of 2 new shields types - The Resonant and Volatile shield that both offer unique ways to shift the battle in your favour.

As well as new gear, all existing enemy ship cards provided with 0.1 will be upgraded to the new Entity Card system - offering far more information then ever before, including the kind of strategies, histories and more these ships and creatures will feature. Alongside this upgrade, many new ships and creatures will also be featured - Including the elusive and powerful Dimensional Dragon! It wouldn't be a tabletop RPG without somehow including dragons after-all!

Version 0.2 will also include a new, short book.

This brand new book will feature some of the history and stories told about the Abyss, as well as how humans have developed over the years and how various magical technologies came to be. This book will be more basic then the handbook and feature No Game Critical Material, But offers a nice range of primer text to help explore the worlds in your own games - and will likely be expanded upon with more content and artwork later on in development.

This second iteration of the game will, of course, include plenty of alterations, improvements and fixes based on even more play tests and any comments left by all of you wonderful people.

And that wraps up today's update - I wont be foolish enough to give a release date for 0.2 as these things take time and I would never like to disappoint anyone lovely enough to give my game a try. I may announce a planned date in the future.
